Estimating in all 50 states, priced by ZIP code
Where the estimator sits does not change the number. Your project's ZIP code does, which is why every MassBid estimate is built on local supplier and labor data rather than a national average.
In short
MassBid Estimation is based in Houston, Texas and estimates construction projects in all 50 states. Every estimate is priced from our own pricing database, built with local vendors across the United States. We enter the project's ZIP code and get current material prices for that market, updated by the vendors as they change, so the number reflects where the work is built and not a statewide or national average.

Core markets
Eight states with dedicated coverage
These are our highest-volume markets. Each page details the regional cost drivers, the cities covered, and the CSI divisions we estimate there.
City pages, with real local jobs and costs
Ten metro areas in Texas, California and Florida each have their own page, built around projects we estimated there: what was measured, what it cost, and what is different about bidding in that city.

Everywhere else
The other 42 states, same service
No dedicated page yet, but identical coverage, turnaround and ZIP-level pricing. Send plans from any of these and the process is exactly the same.

Method
How a ZIP code changes your estimate
Four inputs shift materially between markets. Each one is resolved per project rather than carried over from a national table.
Material cost
Supplier pricing for the same spec varies by region, driven by distance from mills, ports and distribution hubs.
Labor rate
Union versus open shop, prevailing wage schedules, and local trade availability all move the hourly number.
Equipment
Rental rates, mobilisation distance and fuel cost differ enough to change sitework and structural pricing outright.
Disposal & logistics
Tipping fees, haul distance and permit costs are entirely local and are routinely underestimated on out-of-market bids.
After delivery
An editable Excel workbook and free revisions
- Formulas built in
An Excel workbook you can change yourself
The estimate arrives as an editable Excel workbook with the formulas built in. Change a quantity, a rate or a markup and every total follows. Move overhead and profit from 25% to 30% and the whole bid recalculates on the spot.
- No waiting
Adjust your bid at the last minute
If something changes just before the deadline, you do not have to send the estimate back and wait. Open the workbook, change the number and submit. The control stays with you.
- Priority turnaround
Free revisions, with no limit
Addenda, scope changes and pricing updates are all free, however many times you come back, and there is no time limit. Revisions are handled on priority and typically come back within an hour to a few hours.
Questions
Service area questions
Yes, because the estimate is priced from data, not from where the estimator sits. We enter your project's ZIP code and pull current material, labor, equipment and disposal costs for that specific market. A Phoenix project prices on Phoenix rates. The estimator's location affects nothing except which time zone replies to your email.
Yes. Eight states and ten metro areas have their own pages because they are our highest-volume markets, but coverage is nationwide. Rural markets are included. Our supplier data reaches beyond major metros.
Our own pricing database, built with local vendors across the country and updated by them as prices change, captures variation in material cost, prevailing and union versus non-union labor, equipment rental rates, and fuel and transport. That is why a national average is never used: the same building costs materially different amounts in Des Moines and in Manhattan.
Yes. Each project is priced independently against its own ZIP code, so a multi-state program does not inherit one market's rates across the whole portfolio.
Yes. We work with Davis-Bacon and state prevailing wage schedules, certified payroll considerations, and public bid formatting. Send the solicitation with your plans and we will build the estimate to that documentation standard.
